Free boat tours of the Anacostia River.
Join Anacostia River Explorers and APACC member Anacostia Riverkeeper to learn about the Anacostia River’s history, wildlife, the environmental threats it faces, and the solutions helping it realize its full potential. These free, guided boat tours launch from a variety of locations up and down the Anacostia River, and are funded by the District’s disposable bag fee. Find an event.
Come on out for a Family Day event with the Anacostia Watershed Society on April 7th!
Would you like to learn more about the hard work of students participating in the Anacostia Watershed Society's Rice Rangers program and ways to get your students involved? Just interested in exploring the Anacostia River with the whole family? The event on the 7th will be held at Kingman Island. April 10th: Join DOEE fish & wildlife biologists for “Wetland Explorers” Family Discovery Day
Discover the wild world of wetlands along the Anacostia River with a tour of the Aquatic Resources Education Center, themed activities, and an optional motorized boat tour departing/returning from the Anacostia Boat Ramp. This educational program, and all other activities hosted at the AREC, are FREE!
