Clean Water Action seeks interns (paid) for Sustainability Advocate internship program
Clean Water Action (CWA) is currently accepting applications for their 2018 and 2019 Sustainability Advocate internship program. The internship provides motivated and talented individuals an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in politics, communications, fundraising, and advocacy. All while getting paid!
Since their founding during the campaign to pass the landmark Clean Water Act in 1972, Clean Water Action has worked to win strong health and environmental protections by bringing issue expertise, solution-oriented thinking and people power to the table. They are steadfast in their commitment to protect clean water in the face of attacks from a polluter-friendly Administration and Congress.
Interns will have the opportunity to experience advocacy in a variety of ways and settings. Responsibilities include
- Promoting community action on progressive issues to influence national, state, and local decision makers.
- Providing communication with people that is independent of the mass media
- Recruiting members by collecting signatures and contact info
- Raising funds to support CWA's research, lobbying, and educational campaigns
