Mayor Bowser appoints two top community liaisons

Julia Irving is the new director of the Mayor’s Office of Community Relations and Services (MOCRS), the office described by Mayor Muriel Bowser as "my eyes and ears across all eight wards." Irving replaces Tommie Jones. The office is located in the John A. Wilson, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, 332, Washington, DC 20004. Julia and her team provide access to the administration broadly and can help individuals and groups troubleshoot individual and community problems and challenges.

Mayor Bowser also appointed Lamont Akins as director of the Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs (MOCA). MOCA is "on the front lines of promoting and defending DC values," Mayor Bowser said.
