“The quest for DC statehood is gathering more steam this year and the faith community is being asked to get involved with the struggle to end taxation without representation.
The Anacostia Coordinating Council, a member of the National Coalition for Statehood, invites you to attend the Covenant Baptist United Church of Christ’s Statehood Sunday Service on September 29, 2019, 10 a.m., at 3845 South Capitol Street, SW. The guest speaker will be Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton.
I am a member of that church and immediately after the service invite you to a luncheon in the fellowship hall celebrating the 48th anniversary of my 21st birthday. Please RSVP to this invitation if you plan to attend. Lunch will be provided by Imani Catering.
