Trauma Break of Music & Meditation for Youth: Saturday, Sept. 18 & 25
Trauma Break of Music and Meditation for Youth by Brenda Richardson
Climate change and racial injustice are deeply intertwined. Heat islands and flooding disproportionately impact marginalized urban communities. From endless news of the spread of disease, conflict, and natural disasters affecting millions, to unsafe streets and lack of green space in our communities, the environment in which we live affects our mental health.
Young people today are especially exposed to high stress levels. Our youths' brains are tired and need opportunities where they can take time to take a break and relax. Music and meditation in a peaceful place can provide a bit of a respite for our youth.
Help them take a break and learn about anger management, conflict resolution and empowered thinking under the solace of majestic trees at Oxon Run Park. Please email Brenda to RSVP.
