Coffee & Collections: Black Women, Green Spaces, Nov. 9
From the Washington City Paper:
Whose stories of change and activism are recorded for posterity? That is one of the underlying questions bridging the environmentally themed exhibits and events at Smithsonian’s Anacostia Community Museum. Continuing its 2023 theme of Our Environment, Our Future with its exhibition To Live and Breathe: Women and Environmental Justice in Washington, D.C., the Anacostia Community Museum is celebrating ordinary women making extraordinary changes. To Live and Breathe documents how Black women discover environmental and health dangers in their communities and create communal, social, and political efforts for meaningful change by working together.
