Comment on the proposed fast ferry services at June 4 community meeting
The Northern Virginia Regional Commission (NVRC) is holding a community meeting Monday, June 4 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Wharf Dockmaster Building (101 District Square, SW). The purpose of the meeting is to educate residents and commuters about the Potomac Commuter Fast Ferry coming to the region. Register online.
Did you know that a ferry is proposed to connect concentrations of jobs in DC, Maryland, and Virginia? The plan—Potomac Commuter Fast Ferry—would reduce congestion on highways and expand access to jobs for residents of DC. For residents of Wards 7 and 8, the ferry is a connection to regional job hubs.
The ferry would travel along the Potomac, Anacostia and Occoquan Rivers with stops from north to south in Georgetown; The Yards; Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling; National Harbor, MD; and Woodbridge, VA.
