Plan on attending the Year of the Anacostia Candidates Forum for At-large and Council Chair Candidates Forum Thursday, May 31 starting at 5:30 pm.
This forum is the only one of its kind in the city: One focused on the Anacostia River corridor. It’s a chance to ask the candidates questions about the Anacostia River and housing, wellness, and development/redevelopment issues related to the resurgence of Anacostia River.
Denise Rolark Barnes, publisher of The Washington Informer, and Andrew Lightman, managing editor of Capital Community News, will moderate. The Office of CM Trayon White and School Board member Markus Batchelor are co-sponsors. Anacostia High School students will conduct a straw poll at the end of the forum. All in attendance will be able to vote.
