APACC seeking project partners + ideas for DOEE Sustainable DC 2.0 community engagement grant proposal

The Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) recently released this Notice of Funding Availability and RFA seeking to ensure a broader cross section of District residents understand sustainability and provide informed input on the Sustainable DC 2.0 plan.

The amount available for the project is $25,000 and proposals are due July 15, 2018.

On June 22, Clean Water Fund presented to the APACC Steering Committee a concept proposal to work with the Anacostia River communities and DOEE to better understand whether the goals and concerns of Ward 7 and 8 residents are well represented in the District’s draft updated sustainability plan. Committee members approved the development of a network project proposal and application for  grant funding.

Organizations interested in project planning and/or programming related to sustainability and community engagement are encouraged to connect with the  fundraising workgroup (Anacostia Coordinating Council, Anacostia Waterfront Trust, Clean Water Fund, Progressive National Baptist Convention).

For more information on how to get involved with the workgroup and help lead the network’s development and (hopefully) implementation of the Sustainable DC 2.0 Community Engagement project, contact: Michael Bochynski, APACC Standing Chair, Fundraising Committee.
