Are sidewalks in good condition #eotr? Can you get to Anacostia Park and Anacostia River?

Anacostia River and Anacostia Park are impressive community assets. But what happens when people who have a disability try to get to Anacostia Park or River? Too often they encounter no or non-functional curb cuts, dangerous intersections for pedestrians, and difficult-to-maneuver sidewalks on their way.

WUSA*9's Andrea McCarren is taking these problems on with the #NoBarriers project. #NoBarriers will officially kick off the week of November 14, 2016. Stay tuned to McCarren on Twitter (@AndreaMcCarren) and Facebook (Andrea McCarren) for details about the launch.

Together, the community and McCarren can make more places accessible. And east of the Anacostia River, access to the park and waterway would make life more pleasant. How you can help: Email pictures, a description, and location to nobarriers@wusa9.com. 

For those who don't know, McCarren has been parenting Bunce, a Lab from Warrior Canine Connection. McCarren is doing the initial training of Bunce so he can go on to support a vet needing the help (and let's face it, doggy love) of a four-legged friend.
